Outreach/Services

AID FOR FRIENDS: We feed the hungry, visit the sick and handicapped....loving and serving Christ as we share our love with his forgotten children. Because of Aid For Friends services, our meals, visits and caring keep people in their home rather than be institutionalized. Volunteers cook one meal per week while preparing the dinner meal for their families. You can also be a visitor or driver. Click here to contact someone for more information

BREAD RUNS: Food pick-up and delivery to St. Mary’s Villa, (Ambler Orphanage) RAP, (temporary home for teenage girls), Lenape Foundation, (low-income counseling) and to Manna on Main Street on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP: This committee works to educate the faithful about major candidates and their political positions. Click here to contact someone for more information

FINANCE COMMITTEE: This committee is appointed by the pastor and is a representative group of parishioners who provide input and guidance for the pastor on all parish fiscal matters. Click here to contact someone for more information

H.O.P.E. COMMITTEE: "Helping Other People Enthusiastically" Assisting the home bound and others with their needs; grocery shopping, driving them to doctor and hospital visits, or just spend quality time as a companion to them. Click here to contact someone for more information

MANOR CARE NURSING HOME:
MASS:
Last Friday of the month at 10:00 AM at the Nursing Home. Volunteers are needed to help transport wheel-chair patients.
ROSARY & COMMUNION: Tuesday evenings at 6:45 PM. Parishioners who are able to reach out and pray with these special residents are welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

MOTHER TERESA'S FOOD CUPBOARD: Every 3rd weekend of the month, non-perishable food is collected for outreach to Mother Teresa’s Cupboard, Catholic Social Services and St. Patrick’s in Norristown. MMR's PROGRAM FOR THE HOMELESS:  Volunteers from the parish donate food/clothing for the following shelters in Center City, Philadelphia:  St. John's Hospice/The Good Shepherd Program (for men) and the Eliza Shirley House (for women & children).  Collections are held the 1st Sunday of each month including the Saturday of that same weekend.  The collections are timed with the Sunday Mass Schedule.  Many volunteers are needed for this program - we need cooks to make casseroles, volunteers to donate food/clothing, volunteers to man the table at the Masses, and drivers to transport the the donations to Center City.

PARISH NURSE MINISTRY: The Parish Nurse Ministry encourages the promotion and maintenance of the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of our parishioners. they do this by having regular blood pressure screenings, an annual Health Fair and providing monthly health news to the Sunday Bulletin. PASTORAL CARE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: The department of Pastoral Care for Persons with Disabilities fosters full inclusion of people with disabilities into the life of the church in the Archdiocese. Click here to contact someone for more information

PHOTO ARCHIVES COMMITTEE:  This ministry is responsible for maintaining up to date photos and clippings of events that occur in the parish. REGISTER TAPE COMMITTEE: Save your Acme and Redner's register tapes and place them in the box in the narthex. Our committee calculates the tapes and MMR receives a percentage of the total.

REDEEMER GUILD: This group is composed of parishioners who volunteer their services to clean the church every Tuesday morning.

ROSARY AT CLARE BRIDGE: Please join us to pray the Rosary at Clare Bridge Nursing Home on Horsham Road. We meet the third Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM. Your voices in prayer are needed to swell the volume which helps the residents remember the prayers.

    RESPECT LIFE: The goal of the organization is to keep parishioners advised of current pro-life matters especially regarding legislative bills, and to encourage participation in all aspects of pro-life activities and especially abortion alternatives. SCRIP: Scrip is an on-going parish fund raiser that sells gift cards for several supermarkets and department stores.  MMR receives 5% of the sales and the purchaser receives a $1.00 MMR voucher for every $50 purchases. when you have $50 in MMR vouchers you can redeem them for cash twice a year during the months of January and July. They are sold before an after every Mass on the weekend and in the parish office during the week. Click here to contact someone for more information

ST. FRANCIS ECOLOGY COUNCIL/REDEEMER GARDEN COMMITTEE:  The St. Francis Ecology Council focuses on environmental awareness and environmental education. The Adopt-an-Island committee is involved with keeping the church grounds beautiful by mowing, planting, weeding and clean-ups.
